The West Gate Inn expanded into it in spring 1999. Photo: None  We have to admit, we never actually made it into the Falstaff Tap. Shortly before its demise, the Falstaff Tap shortened its name to 'The Tap', but this wasn't enough to save it from the West Gate Inn, the Wetherspoon pub that opened next door.
