This is our obituary to Zu and the Livin' Room. We never made it to the second two incarnations:

Had FHM Magazine's "Lush" not visited Zu in Northgate in 1998 I would never had heard of it. By the time I found it, it had already closed down. The Lush seemed to like it, but that clearly wasn't enough to save it. After over two years gathering dust, it finally returned in 2001 as the Livin' Room, which did indeed look like a slightly over-sized livin(g) room. As Canterbury's smallest pub, it did get quite busy and was very popular with the students living in the area. Shortly after it first opened, when looking for the toilet, one of us inadvertantly found themselves upstairs in a REAL - if rather untidy - living room. Luckily, this was resolved when they extended upstairs. It wasn't a bad place at all, and it's a shame it closed after a couple of years.
