Part of the nationwide Ha! Ha! Bar &
Grill (then Bar & Canteen) chain, this was of the bare floorboards variety, and
placed equal emphasis on food as beer during the day (hence 'canteen' appearing
in the name), although in the evening this gave way to wine and beer drinkers.
It closed with the intention of being converted into a Slug & Lettuce (another
nationwide brand owned by the same company) but something went wrong and it has
remained empty ever since. Before it became Ha! Ha! it was home of the now-gone
Slatters Hotel's bar, Argot. |
