This bar,
known as the Marlowe Theatre Showbar then Marlowe Theatre Cafe Bar, was primarily aimed at people seeing a show at the theatre
- in fact probably the only non-theatregoers who ever went was us, just for
completeness! Anyone was allowed to use the bar, although you wouldn't really want to as it
was rather expensive and busy at pre-show and interval times.
The Marlowe Theatre closed in March
2009, and was demolished over the next few months. A new theatre will be built
in the same place, opening 2011, and promised to include new bars, including a
riverside bar. |
