We have both had a long association with Blues music. We prefer the pre-war " rural blues" to the Chicago based city blues (although there are some notable exceptions).
Our all time favourites must include :-
Skip James, Rev Gary Davis, Robert Johnson, Rice Miller, Son House, Memphis Minnie, Mississippi John Hurt, Tommy McClennan, Tommy Johnson, Blind Blake, Big Joe Williams, Bessie Smith, Johnny Shines, Blind Boy Fuller, Lonnie Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Hambone Willie Newburn, Billie Holliday
We often include Blues songs in our repertoire but try to arrange them to suit our needs. Often our own compositions have a rural blues ambience but with modern lyrics we hope we learn from the past but carry the torch forward
