Hello and welcome to our web site my name is Derek and I am the guitarist for the musical duo "Jane's Alley". Louise and I play gigs around the North East of England a place where I have lived all my life and so the themes which I explore in my music often relate to this region. Northumberland is the least populated county of England and a region of contrasts - from beautiful rural landscapes to  industrial urban decay an ideal environment for a songwriter to seek inspiration.

Hi I am Louise and I am the vocalist for  "Jane's Alley". Unlike Derek I have traveled a great deal, I was born in India  spent my childhood in Africa before moving to England. I later lived for many years in Houston Texas. In those days old blues 78s could still be bought in the city junk shops. The record above is by the local blues singer Sam " Lightning " Hopkins.   During my time in the USA  my musical tastes absorbed this local scene so blues music is often a basis for our own sound which we try to adapt to complement modern stylish lyrics
