The morning sun casts shadows across the back garden
The morning sun casts shadows across the back garden

Welcome to our website which aims to show how the garden has developed over the past ten years.
We are located in the South West of England, within view (just) of the Quantock Hills and about 6 miles from the Bristol Channel coast.

The Gallery is a new addition to the site and will be growing as I take more and more photographs of the plants that I love.  My  cameras are an Olympus 3000Z a Samsung Digimax A6 and a Samsung NV7.

BACKGROUND ON THE GARDEN

Al and I, with our two Muscovy ducks, Jemima and Petunia, moved into a new house in December 1997.  We were the first people to move in on our road and were living on a building site for the first few months!  The soil here is heavy clay and to make matters worse the builders had been driving their heavy machinery over it.

The winter of 1997/98 was very wet and the back garden was just a bog.  The only ones who didn't seem to mind were the ducks!

Here is a small plan of our plot.   As you can see the front is a really awkward shape because of the driveway and turning bay.  In the front garden I have planted four borders.  Border 1 is at the far end of the drive and the neighbours get a better view of this than we do!
