PAVONI IN RECORD BREAKING FORM Dec 2007 Roberto Pavoni (16) from the Brentwood Swimming Club broke 2 British Age Group records at this week’s Queensland Championships in Brisbane – Australia. He took Gold in the 200 Fly, 200 and 400 Individual Medley, breaking the 200 fly (2.02.17) and 400 I.M. (4.23.04) British records. These times, together with the 200 I.M. (2.05.51) are currently the fastest in Europe and amongst the very top in the World. The event, which was watched by several Thousand spectators, is attended every year by the top British, Australian and Pacific countries. Roberto, who will be based for 2 years from January at the Offshore Centre on the Gold Coast, capped an incredible year which saw him win Essex, East Region, British and European Championships breaking several records in the progress. He is now unbeaten in the Medley event at all levels and distances for the last 3 years. This is testimony to the excellent work by his Head Coach Terence Vincent and the support received within the Club.
