My Rationale & Inspriation.

Following my visits to Italy and Kenya I have been privileged to experience the most amazing views and landscapes and it is these memories and moments that inspire my work. I have a keen interest in photography which enables me to capture; not only the overall view but intimate detailing of nature.

I am captivated by the unspoilt beauty of the Alps and Pyrenees. The snow, clear skies, blue waters are uplifting and energizing. Waking up to a spectacular sunrise and watching the sun set both have an emotional effect on me and it is this effect I hope to portray through my work.

I am intrigued by flowers, particularly roses and sunflowers, I feel that the colours are beautiful and make me feel content. The images I take are manipulated using Photoshop; I spend hours doing this and then use the designs on my glass work. I use the glass as a blank canvas and transfer my designs using dramatic colours.

My work has been a combination of imagery, colour, composition and form that has reflected my love of nature. I have explored the way I can use these elements through using glass processes and techniques of over-lays, graal, engraving, sand-blasting and cutting the glass with a diamond wheel to create and develop my imagery and designs.
