Dreaming - (1979)
(5.34) Latin rock :
producer Tom Newman (Tubular Bells)
I had a dream last night
You were in my dream
It was a dream all about you
You were by my side
We had nothing to hide
And when I woke up it was true
All I have to do is
dream about you
And I know that pretty soon
I will be with you
All I have to do is
dream about you
And I know that pretty soon
I'll make love with you
You've been on my mind
You're there all the time
You have occupied my soul
You're there all day long
You got into my song
You can sing along in harmony
All I have to do is dream about you
And I know that pretty soon
I will be with you
All I have to do is dream about you
And I know that pretty soon
I'll make love with you
Find a spot and let sleep
creep over me like a wave
A blanket of stars
A pillow of moon
Nobodys slave
I think it's time I was in love
So deep I never fall out again
And if I say I mean in love
So deep I never fall out again
I could stop dreaming
dreaming, dreaming
dream, dream

Song story Officially the last ever recording by the original Phantasy Circus in 1979, ably aided and abbetted by flamenco efficianado Eduardo Niebla and producer Tom Newman on 24 tracks. Tom made his name producing Tubular Bells for Mike Oldfield and invested in a floating recording studio on a barge moored at Little Venice, plus a mobile studio nearby which we used to record 2 songs. At the end of the session, I schmoozed Tom into letting me keep a spare reel of 1/4 inch tape for a future occasion.
He handed me an allegedly 're-usable' reel off the shelf with some unknown demo titles scribbled on the box. Almost 20 years later the dusty tape box was further investigated by ex Peacemaker, Steve Thandoy, found to contain 5 previously unreleased, pristine mixes of songs by a local undiscovered rock band, with the unmistakable lead vocal of Chrissy Hinde, the original 1980s line up of 'the Pretenders', sat untouched on my bookshelf for 2 decades.
