Conspiracy Theories
The design concept behind the CD cover has a strong Beatles link. The location was near EMI recording studios, across the road from the more famous crossing, used originally by the Fab Four on ABBEY ROAD London
The 'Abbey Road' concept itself has of course been done to death by numerous other bands, so I wanted a fresh slant, which ties in with the 'wined up' title. I actually passed by this location often, but saw it from a different angle to the familiar view. Dressed in my finest winery & a few key props on the adjascent crossing, the one across the road .. placing the more famous crossing, and the EMI studios where Sgt Peppers was originally recorded (on 4 track technology) firmly in my background.
With my legs crossed on the crossing across the road from the Beatles crossing, guitar slung upside down & back to front, resulted in quite a surreal image that begs a double take. 'Sargeant Peppers' done 'My Way' ..

This image by Brazilian photojournalist Roberto Steinberger of 'The Actual Beatles Crossing' was not used due to the
sun-flare and incidental japanese tourist.
You can just make out the graffiti behind me on the walls of Abbey Road studio .. I know the 'in joke' is subtle, but then so is the Beatles' influence on my music. I never intentionally try, or claim to specifically 'sound like' my mentors, more aspire to their their tendency to create eclectic, 'memorable', melodies with 'lasting power', as a blueprint for my own work.

Did you spot all the subliminal Beatles references on the CD ?
There are however, a few other conscious Beatles references scattered throughout the CD itself.
No prizes, here are a few ..
You're the one : the entire song loosely based on 'Dear Prudence' riff and the chorus (picture a lazy morning) from 'Something' by Beatle George. Like two classic cars welded together !!
Deliberate George Harrison guitar sound over the middle eight and vocal reference 'Won't you come out to play?'
The track 'Can't find my way home' by Stevie Winwood as 'Blind Faith' (not Traffic) is often referenced here but the Beatles were the real inspiration for the song
'Queen Mum' song loosely based crossover of 'Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl' and 'God save the Queen' by the Sex Pistols
Writer's Block : another early Beatles classic 'Date Ripper' mercilessly referenced
How can I help you? .. Well we did try extending that last piano chord for two minutes, but unintentionally there was a very Beatlesque phantom radio broadcast tracked down to earthing on Luciano's bass lead, which we kept in the recording and enhanced at the very end of the mix
If you translate the title 'Changing with the weather' into Portuguese and rearrange the letters it spells 'Heza isn't deaf senhor, he just smell funny'
End of the line : Yellow Submarine on downers ?
The wined up CD comes with its own built in conspiracy theories !!
Is Basil Brooks the seventh Beatle?
Is Jeza DEAF ?
Is Lord Bygon secretly Ringo ?
Of course not, but it makes you wonder ..
In 1974 Jeza was compared to George Harrison by the Beatles personal friend and press agent.
The real Beatles connection in my life goes back almost 30 years .. when I met and performed for their press agent & personal buddy, the late Derek Taylor

I suppose you want to see a
picture of the Beatles now !!
