Excalibur International |
|
Excalibur International was started by Prof. James Perry at Churchill Sports Centre on one night a week, it has now expanded to four nights a week (Monday throu to Thursday) at three different locations (see Fencing Classes for list). The club caters for all ages male and female (the youngest is 6, the oldest is 73) at all three weapons, at all levels of ability from beginner to advanced, for social and competitive fencers, the electric equipment is use on a permanent basis, and there is a full coach education programme (The British Academy of Fencing) for those who wish to start in the world of coaching. All equipment is provided for those who do not have their own.
There are three coaches at the moment (see The Coaches for details) who give class and individual lessons as well as advice on all fencing matters. For those who wish to enter into competition there is a comprehensive list (see Competitions above) for a full list go to the British Fencing web site for details.
The club runs a Team Epee Competition annually at Churchill Sports Centre (see Team Epee above) for invited clubs, the idea of the competition is to introduce club members into the competition spirit, then those who wish to can then enter into local, regional and national competitions.
All are welcome, come and visit us at one of the centres in your area
