| Time to look through these again, and move some out of the way. Now, I'm not so vain that I want to see pictures of myself, but I keep seeing this picture and it makes me happy. There's beer involved, and I like beer, but there's also the Elmar 35mm and Tri-X working well (sadly the M2 wasn't behaving, and the shutter went wonky; the right hand side of the frame was seriously under-exposed. However, a Photoshop moment brought it back). It was a lovley Guzzi day, and it is one of my favourite photos; that's why it's here. ![]() Elmar 35mm Leica M2 This was taken on that same day - and it stays. A gateway in Hampshire, Southern England. I like the open, light, quality to this. It comes from a film in which I happily seem to have got a lot of exposures right and which I developed and then scanned well. Scanning with my old Epson flatbed isn't a terribly exact science... I could do with a pre-scan histogram. Anyway - don't want to get away from the image which just makes me want to climb over the gate and walk on down the hill. ![]() Elmar 35mm Leica M2 I like the movement and the fact that this is an old photo, though Kay doesn't look much different it has to be said. ![]() Zuiko 50mm OM1 Ah! In 2008 we went down to see Tom in Cornwall, and stopped off in the New Forest. Great light, and this was taken with John's ancient Leica 1. First film I'd put through it, and some frames suffered from bad shutter-work, but not this one. It's the images from this film that got me interested in the Elmars. Unfortunately i don't think the Elmar 35mm I bought is as good as this Elmar 50mm on the Leica 1 is, but I prefer the field of view of the 35mm. In this picture I could have done with being a bit further away, but couldn't go there. ![]() Elmar 50mm Leica 1 Skye! Hard to take a bad photograph when surrounded by scenery such as this. I particularly like the HUGENESS of this (I've got it at A3+ and it looks fantastic). I could have emphasised this by cropping it to be wider, but I like the sky and the beach, so that's that. ![]() Sigma zoom Nikon D80 Chiroubles; I can't take this one off. ![]() Zuiko 135mm OM1 Pete in his Triumph Herald in the 1980's I would guess. I like the open road feel - roof down and a smile on his face. ![]() Vivitar 28mm OM1 Old oak in Throwleigh, Devon, South-West England. This looks great blown up. ![]() Zuiko 28mm OM2 Spot |
