I really recognised my love of the Alps when I started Ski-ing in the early seventies, initially in Odersdorf, Bavaria and in the mid seventies, the same avid snow and mountain enthusiast found himself in Norway learning arctic warfare and survival skills, so the ski experience in earlier years proved very useful indeed for the exciting life that I was to encounter
A relocation back to Germany meant a great deal more work to become a qualified ski instructor. The next step was an instructor in a first class ski school. The next four years were spent working on ski-techniques and teaching skills, attending different courses until eventually the great day came: Chief Instructor of a ski school of my own.
The next three years were spent as Chief I instructor of a ski school in Jungholz, Austria, designing and developing ski programs for students and instructors alike. A very special day arrived when one of my own students became The Army Ski Champion. In the early eighties I became an Arctic Warfare and Survival instructor, and moved to Norway once more to become Chief Instructor of a training centre in Norway. I also achieved the status of a trainer and examiner for Arctic Warfare Instructors.
Alongside my time on ski’s. which was most of the time—I spent three years living in different types of alternative accommodation such as snow holes, tents, tent sheets, brushwood shelters etc, but was fortunate enough to spend some time in the comfort of a hotel bed on the odd occasion! |

In the mid eighties I returned to the Alps once again as Chief Instructor of another ski school, where I stayed for the next two years.
My love of the slopes in summer and winter alike and knowledge of the mountains now allows me the pleasure of sharing some of the most breath-taking views in the area with groups of friends old and new—ski-ing, sightseeing and trekking in a wonderland of soft white snow, flora covered terrain, glaciers and rugged mighty mountains. Breathing in some of the most pure air on our planet. Beginners, experienced skiers, school groups and family groups and people of all ages and abilities are welcome to enjoy my paradise. I can give you excellent contacts for your accommodation, transport, ski hire, ski school and lift tickets mainly in Bavaria and Austria, but also in the French, Italian and Swiss Alps and I will be happy to ski with you there myself ! |
