The Great Aurora 0f 6th April 2000. These images were captured from my back garden on the outskirts of Doncaster. This is the first and only Aurora witnessed to date. It was amazing to see these moving curtains of light, shifting accross the sky and shafts of green dropping out of the zenith!

UK Total Solar Eclipse. The first image is the only one I took at the Cornwall, UK, Total Solar Eclipse of 1999. Though it was cloudy, the event was errie. As soon as darkness descended, the tempreture dropped rapidly and what was a warm August day became a chilly August night in a matter of minutes!
The other three photos were taken by my wife Melanie, during the Total Eclipse, but from Doncaster, where it was Partial at ~90%. Click on the thumbs to see a larger image.
