Omicron Ceti (Mira)

Omicron Ceti, commonly known as Mira, is the prototype of the Long Period Variables. Found in the constellation of Cetus, it is only observable during the autumn and winter months at this (53° ) lattitude. For a historical background to this star, visit at the AAVSO.
