I have finally started work on the replacement for Sustenbahn !!!!

I had every intention of drawing up a comprehensive plan before work commenced but after hours of deliberation and countless sheets of wasted paper I finally decided to take the plunge armed only with the draft plan at the bottom of this page. It only shows the basic configuration and the more complex trackwork in stations and yards will evolve as the layout grows. The other diagrammatic trackplan will eventually be used on the layout control panel and shows the the separate electrical block sections. I'm sure this will bring back happy memories to those who have converted to DCC !!

28th January 2003 Scenery construction, kit building and tracklaying.

3rd March 2003 Control Panel, tracklaying and scenery construction.

3rd May 2003 Hidden storage sidings.

5th February 2004 Construction resumes.

29th February 2004 Control Panel, tracklaying reaches summit and a warning to users of Peco Code 55 turnouts.

13th May 2004 Tracklaying completed on upper level.

16th October 2004 Scenery construction and wiring of Control Panels.

29th October 2005 Construction continues very slowly!!

19th February 2006 Track ballasting/painting. Tunnel overhead catenary.

24th December 2006 Basic terrain complete, Backscenes added, Ballasting/painting continues.

17th June 2007 A couple of modelling projects completed.

12th March 2008 Blausee kit finished after 4 YEARS !!!

30th August 2008 Creanorm Postal Container Wagons have arrived !!
