Large/Our Oscar

And the winner is . . .

WE are very proud to have been the recipient of an Oscar in 2005 from the then Mayor of Crewe and Nantwich (Cllr Steve Roberts).

The work of the CNTN Volunteers was recognised by the honour in the "Volunteer of the Year" category, presented at a ceremony at the Civic Hall, Nantwich, on Friday, February 18, 2005.
CNTN President, Ray Gladden MBE; the then Chairman, Patrick Grange; the Treasurer, David Bushell and the then Secretary, Janet Farrell, were proud to be first on stage that evening to collect the Oscar on behalf of the CNTN volunteers.

Many times during the evening, the Mayor likened volunteers to pearls.

CNTN agrees that our Volunteers are indeed pearls in the Talking Newspaper crown and deserve to be recognised for their hard work in keeping the service going despite all odds.
