Microsoft PowerPoint: Adding text to a slide
 
  1. Use the Text Box tool located on the Draw toolbar.
  2. Select the tool and then click and drag to create a rectangular text box on the slide.
  3. To move a text box, click on the border of a text box and then drag it.
  4. Type text in box.
  5. Format as needed.
