Connection with Windows NT4 RAS-Server
to the Internet

The Windows NT system (Server or Workstation) is now ready to connect to the Internet, so a Dailup-connection needs to be configured:

After defining the name for the connection and the phone number, we need to configure the connection:

tab: Basics
contains the connection information
tab: Server
define as network protocol ONLY
TCP/IP, for which you define
the values for your ISP
(which is in most cases all
assigned by the server during
connection to the ISP)

tab: Script
If required, select your connection script
(like me for connection to CIS)

We are now ready to connect to the Internet:

Once you are connected, using either from the Control-Panel or from the Context-Menu of the icon in the task-bar the Dialup Networking Monitor:

Select the tab: Summary
and double-click on your Internet
connection to display the
Details: here it shows now the
IP-address assigned to you.

This is the number, you will tell
to everybody, who likes to connect
via the Internet to your system.

They can test the connection via the
Internet to you by making the Ping-Test.

Once the connection to the Internet is tested, you can hangup and install now the VPN-server on your system:
