Back in the Network applet, we add now the PPTP as additional
protocol:
You will be prompted for the number of simulatneous VPN-connections
to be allowed (please remember: while NT Server
can handle up to 256 RAS
connections, Windows NT4 Workstation allows only ONE incoming RAS connection):
NT Setup will then bring to the RAS SEtup/Configuration:
Enter now via the Add-button the all available
VPN - RASPPTPM devices:
Configure now each VPN-adapter on the VPN-server to allow a dialin
connection: to receive calls (Windows NT 4 workstation will only allow you to configure
1 dialin connection!)
Configure the Network protocol for the
Server Settings(for the incoming calls):
In my case and this example, I allow ONLY NetBEUI as protocol for
incoming connections (making it IMPOSSIBLE for break-In
("Hacker-attack")
via the Internet, which has to use TCP/IP)
Since we have now an additional protocol :
and additional network adapters (the VPN-adapters), we need to check
our bindings:
make sure, that TCP/IP is ONLY bound to the Modem- Adapter (which is [5] Remote Access WAN Wrapper, see:
RAS Installation for that)
while the VPN-adapters ( [6] and [7] Remote Access WAN Wrapper)
have only
a binding with the local network protocol NetBEUI.
