Who will you be dealing with?
I have been in business for more than 15 years and have hundreds of satisfied customers, both private individuals and flying clubs. I always strive to provide an excellent, rapid and economical service. I am based in Somerset, UK and until April 2012 owned and flew my own Jodel D117 from Dunkeswell. I am very easy to talk to, no jargon or bluster! If I do not know, I will say so!
Up until now I have remained busy enough by word-of-mouth recommendation but, with my retirement from my university day job, I am keen to expand my activities.
If you send me your headset I will: Diagnose the problem.
If it can be repaired within an hour without the purchase of parts, I will do this immediately. Fee £35 to cover labour and handling.
If parts are required, or extra labour, I will contact you with a quote and request your instructions.
When repairs are complete, the headset will be cleaned and returned to you by post.*
You will receive an invoice for the agreed amount, plus return postage, for settlement by cheque or BACS.
* I will return headsets by the same means that you sent them - Royal Mail Special Delivery (insured) strongly preferred.
I am also very keen and willing to be challenged by your individual electrical or electronic problems. I have designed and constructed such bespoke items as:
Voice amplifier for a pilot with larynx problems.
In-line earphone amplifier for high noise environment.
Low voltage detector circuit - low cost.
Non-invasive engine starter activation monitor.
Headset incompatibility corrector.
Discuss your requirements with me. You can be sure of a constructive response.
Please be clear that I am not a CAA licensed engineer. Most of my airframe work has been on LAA Permit aircraft or, if CofA, signed off by an appropriately licensed engineer. If you wish to do your own electrical installation work, I can provide advice and information to support you on a consultancy basis. I can also install avionics, including radios, intercoms, transponders and GPS to LAA Permit aircraft. I will only undertake airframe work within reasonable travelling distance of my home in south Somerset.
