Getting Here

Ferry
Rothesay is reached by ferry from Wemyss Bay, only 20 miles from Glasgow. The views during the 30 minute crossing are spectacular.

A more leisurely route is to take the short ferry ride from Colintraive, on the Cowal peninsula.  The journey from Glasgow to Colintraive is about 75 miles through some of Scotland's most fabulous scenery.

Road
Take the M8 west from Glasgow, then follow the A78 through Greenock to Wemyss Bay.

Rail
Frequent trains depart from Glasgow Central Station for a 50 minute journey to Wemyss Bay. Tickets can be purchased at Glasgow Central for both the train and ferry.   

Air
Glasgow Airport and Prestwick Airport are located close by.
