A CENTENARY OF SCOUTING IN THE VILLAGE
Just two years after Scouts globally celebrated the centenary of the
Association, Duffield Scout Group is commemorating their 100th
anniversary. On Sunday 22nd February, members of the Group met on the
Millennium Meadow, Duffield to plant a tree to mark a monumental

and run for the benefit of its members, with almost £195bn of assets and
over £120bn of retail deposits.
The Derbyshire name and branch network will be retained.
Nationwide will now look to develop the Derbyshire’s regional franchise to
ensure it continues to serve the needs of customers and the local

The plans for ‘Massive’, the proposed secular youth facility are progressing
The aim of the project is to provide a social space and a variety of activities for the young people of Duffield in the Emmanuel
church building‘Massive’ is seeking to improve the quality of life for young people in the village, and reduce the risk of them
becoming involved in anti- social behaviour or potentially harmful activities to themselves and to others.
ROTARIANS HELPING OUT IN THE COMMUNITY
The communities of Belper and Duffield have been served by Belper Rotary Club since 1930.
Over recent years, population changes and the growth of Duffield have resulted in about one third of its members coming from
Duffield. Work done with Duffield schools has included, the provision of mock job interviews, in conjunction with The Derbyshire
Building Society, for students at Ecclesbourne.
