Duffield housewives and mothers Rachel Sulley and Bronwen Skinner took a real chance when they joined forces and opened Delicious, a deli and sandwich shop at 6 Wirksworth Road, Duffield.
With the closure of Lesley Lloyd’s Country Larder they thought there was an unfulfilled niche in the village and now, exactly two years later, Delicious is not only a place to get a bite to eat, it provides a high quality outside catering service for a wide range of events, business lunches, weddings, parties and other special occasions. “We are delighted with the on-going support we are receiving from the villagers and Ecclesbourne students in particular,” say the couple.
With children of their own they had a pretty good idea of what youngsters wanted and they added ideas of their own to give plenty of healthy eating alternatives. “We pride ourselves on offering the best quality items from top class suppliers, providing a widening range of takeaway food and drinks including sandwiches of course, but also oven-baked potatoes, paninis, soup and salads, pastries and hot and cold drinks.
There is also a free local delivery service for reasonably sized orders.
They are sticklers for quality and have built up a list of top, award winning suppliers for a widening selection of food. “We want to say thanks for all the support and hopefully the business will continue for many years to come,” said Rachel.
