SPIRITED DEBUT ALBUM FROM CLEVER PLYMOUTH ROCKERS - ALBUM REVIEW, 02 NOVEMBER 2009 With enough power, energy and originality to fuel them into the most promising of futures, Arthur Walker are destined to stir the attention of many from this point onwards. They are exciting front-runners of “new bands” on the block - standing out, quite considerably, from the efforts of their rivals. Described as the kind of band worthy of inclusion in the “Ones To Watch” lists of the music press, they have already garnered a healthy following through their two EP releases ( both launch gigs were sold out) and are in no danger of having their debut album overlooked. An explosion of new wave/punk andmelodic rock songs reveal a creative versatility and intuition, obvious on “Hello Medicine”, “My Headphone Attracts” and “Monkey Freeze” with “I Am A Skull And I Am Evil” appearing especially dominant. It’s been just 3 years since the band formed but already the anticipation surrounds their every move forward. Things couldn’t possibly be better for Arthur Walker right now. ALAN BAILLIE |
