Thomas b. 1875 Shoreditch MDX |
Thomas (senior) was the third generation of Paper Stainers (wall paper makers) in the family.
Jane had been previously married to Thomas Walter Jennings Freeman (1 Dec 1856) and they had one son - Walter George Jennings b. 14 Sep 1857. Her occupation in 1856 when she first married was as a Shoemaker living at 12 Felton Terrace, Hoxton.
From her marriage certificate it is known that Jane's father was William Thomas, a brass finisher. Her grand-daughter Grace Bayliss remembered that Jane spoke Welsh when she was in a temper indicating either that she originally came from Wales or her parents spoke Welsh at home.
A short note about Jane CE Thomas by granddaughter Grace Bayliss is included in the attached notesUpdated July 2003
