Unfortunately research on this line has fallen foul of two problems with the church registers for Glastonbury
1. no records were kept of the christenings, marriages or burials between 1709 and 1718
2. as with many early registers the mother's name is often not recorded for christenings and parents names are not recorded for many children's burials.

John is just recorded as being the son of Robert (no mother recorded) and no other children are recorded for Robert, presumably they would have been in the missing period of the registers.

No marriage of Robert is recorded although this could have occurred elsewhere. With Robert there are two possible christenings dated 22 Oct 1683 and 23 Feb 1686 with fathers William and Robert respectively. A Robert Fry was buried on 5 Feb 1689 but it is not known whether this is one of the two children or the elder Robert.
