Edward and Charlotte were "Victuallers" at the North Foreland public house in Chatham and Charlotte continued running the pub after Edward's death until at least 1851. The pub is still in existence.
Unfortunately Edward's origin is unknown as their marriage and his birth records have not been found. The only clue is from the 1841 census which records that he was born in Kent and so far (after checking about half of the church registers from the county) no Edward matching the dates has been found.
