JRS
Europe Seminar and AGM This
year’s JRS training seminar focused on Islam. Dan Madigan SJ, head of the
Gregorian University’s Institute for the Study of Religions and Cultures,
Jean-Marie Gaudeul (M.Afr.), a respected author on the history of
Muslim-Christian interactions, and Tom Michel SJ, the Secretary of the
Superior-General of the Jesuits for interreligious issues, led the information
and training sessions. Bernard
and Louise joined another 50 members of JRS teams from across Europe gathered in
Aix-en-Provence to participate in the seminar to gain a better understanding of
Islam and to make our work with Muslim refugees and asylum seekers more
effective. 40
people stayed on to participate in the AGM, which this year focused on the three
year planning process, fundraising and common projects.
