HOW DID YOU START OFF JUNIOR HANDLING?
I started junior handling by showing my mums’ yellow labrador in breed open shows.
DO YOU TAKE PART IN ANY OTHER FIELD (I.E. OBEDIENCE, AGILITY, FLYBALL ETC)?
Yes, I have started to do gundog training with my 9 month old puppy Lexi.At the moment we are doing basic obedience and hoping to progress to the field with her.
HOW MANY DOGS DO YOU LIVE WITH, OWN AND/OR SHOW?
I live with 3 Labradors and 1 rescue crossbreed.I own 1 black lab puppy which my mum, and dad put it in my name.
WHICH ONES DO YOU USE FOR JUNIOR HANDLING AND WHY?
I show my mums yellow lab because we show better together.The pups fidgit too much. Although I am going to bring them out this year for junior handling.
TELL US ABOUT HOW TO HANDLE (SHOWING STYLE) WHICHEVER BREED YOU USE MOST IN JUNIOR HANDLING CLASSES.
To show a Labrador,They are free standing and can be batted with a little food to keep them focused,A loose lead is used well down over the withers
WHAT DO YOU NORMALLY WEAR IN COMPETITION?
I usually wear a brown trouser suit,with my hair in a pony tail.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE OCCASION SO FAR?
My best achievement would be taking Reserve best of breed at Horley & District open show,and 1st place in the junior handling class 6 - 11 years class at the South of England Gundog show 2005.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT JUNIOR HANDLING?
Something to look forward to at weekends. Meeting new people and their dogs.

Relax, always pay attention to what the judge asks. Enjoy your day and your dog, and remember you always take the best dog home.
