HOW DID YOU START OFF JUNIOR HANDLING?
Well it all started when my friend Julia bred her border terrier bitch Tizzy who has done her Bronze and Silver good companion test. I have only just started showing and in breed classes with Molly (Tizzy's daughter) I am in the first three everytime.
DO YOU TAKE PART IN ANY OTHER DOGGY ACTIVITIES (OBEDIENCE,AGILITY,FLYBALL,ETC)?
I take part in Obedience with Spike and Tizzy (both border terriers) which is very exciting this year because Spike and I are going to CRUFTS in the special events ring on Thursday and Friday to take part in a display for Safe and Sound. I am very excited because it will be the first time I go to Crufts. Spike is not a show dog because he is too big but he is very clever and is my Best Friend! I am having a lot of fun!
HOW MANY DOGS DO YOU LIVE WITH,OWN AND/OR SHOW?
Three border terriers and sometimes I show a pug for my friend.
WHICH ONES DO YOU USE FOR JUNIOR HANDLING AND WHY?
My border terrier Molly because I know her best of all.
WHAT BREEDS HAVE YOU SHOWN BEFORE IN COMPETITION?
I have handled border terriers and pugs.
TELL US ABOUT HOW TO HANDLE (SHOWING STYLE) YOUR BREED IN JUNIOR HANDLING CLASSES?
Molly (my border terrier) loves to show. She is a table dog so I present her on the table, showing her profile and holding her head and tail. I let her free - stand as long as she is happy and wagging her tail. This is ok for a working terrier.
WHAT DO YOU NORMALLY WEAR IN COMPETITION?
I wear a trouser suit and flat shoes.
WHAT ARE YOUR BEST ACHIEVEMENTS?
First in a Border terrier class and then BOB. This was at my first show.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE OCCASION SO FAR?
Showing a pug for the first time, coming third and beating the breeder!
IF YOU ONLY HAD ONE 'TOP TIP' TO SHARE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Always keep your eye on the judge - but don't forget your dog.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT JUNIOR HANDLING?
Meeting new friends!
WHAT DISAPPOINTS YOU IN THE WORLD OF JUNIOR HANDLING?
That there are not enough training classes.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO BRING UP?
