Judge  - Gail Storie

6 - 11 years

1. Dom Santoriello - very smartly dressed young handler. Kept good pace with his charge and made full use of the ring. In the challenge for Best Junior Handler he pulled his dog round a corner on one of the patterns rather than walking it which spoilt his line and cost him best handler.

2. Sophie Brown Lee - Good neat patterns and encouraged her dog well. Not quite the poise or finish of 1, which is I know something juniors hate to hear as it is so difficult to define and explain.

3. Amelia Whipps - didn’t look at my position before starting her pattern and presented a bit too close. However when her dog stopped she showed great calmness and composure and did not try to drag her charge.

12 - 16 years (9,1a)

1. Johnathon Lane - judged him in the YKC handling classes this year at Leeds and he has taken on board everything I said to him then. Very smartly dressed and very polite. Kept good pace with his dog and executed patterns well. Perhaps he could use more of the ring but put on a most impressive performance to win best junior handler and best overall handler.

2. Georgia Gray - Close decision with 1, very neat and precise young handler.

3. Charlotte Clarke , 4 Rhian McLoughlin when you are faced with 2 handlers of equal standard something has to be the deciding factor in the placings. In this case Charlotte had the edge handling her young retriever to the same standard as Rhian with her older Beagle.

17 years plus (11,3a)

1. Miss S Houslop - an extremely competent handler who executed neat and precise patterns.

2. Ana Prevel - could be tighter on the return corners but gace a good present.

3. Miss S Katanga - very smart but needs a bit more practise with positioning.
