BOBBIE BURNARD, 11 YEARS OLD
DISTRICT WHERE YOU LIVE:
Guernsey
HOW DID YOU START?
By going to Discover Dogs, and meeting a lovely lady who taught me how to get started.
HOW MANY DOGS DO YOU LIVE WITH/OWN/SHOW?
Just one, Jack my Australian terrier who is the best ever.
DO YOU DO OTHER DOGGY ACTIVITIES?
No,but I wish to start agility when Jack is old enough
WHICH BREED/S DO YOU USE IN JUNIOR HANDLING?
Just Jack, he is all I have
WHAT BREEDS HAVE YOU SHOWN BEFORE IN COMPETITION?
Miniature Dachshund, and a Corgi belonging to my friend and of course Jack my puppy.
TELL US HOW TO HANDLE YOUR BREED;
You walk Australian terriers at a quick pace and I keep him baited. When standing on the table, stack them. When in the line-up I stand in front of his head because he is a free standing dog.
WHAT I WEAR;
Beige trousers and a white blouse, with a black blazer.
WHAT ARE YOUR BEST ACHIEVEMENTS?
When I went to Jersey and got the award for working hardest over the show weekend. It was a special trophy but I wasn't allowed to bring it home, so had to have a certificate in a frame and the biggest and best rosette in the show.
WHAT’S YOUR MOST MEMORABLE OCCASION?
Last weekend at Bournemouth Championship show, it was my first mainland show and it was enormous! I went into JHA 6-11 years and came second!
IF YOU HAD ONE TOP TIP, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Don't get nervous, it's fun.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT JUNIOR HANDLING?
That I get to do it with my friends, and make new ones
WHAT DISAPPOINTS YOU ABOUT JUNIOR HANDLING?
That a girl who came to classes gave up just because a newcomer was good and beat her in a show.
ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO BRING UP?
A judge kept on about this beagle and did’nt really look at any other dogs and I thought that it was really unfair. So I would like it if judges looked fairly at each dog not just the one that she/he likes because it was reallly disappointing that they let that dog win in every class.
