JUDGE - MELINDA S BROADBENT

JUNIOR HANDLING

All must remember to follow the judges instructions, each time a triangle was asked for yet not one handler followed this particular instruction.

6-11 years

1^st Charley Donaldson 11 years old. Well versed in handling. Excellent rapport with her Whippet.  Must remember to praise the dog more though. Well dressed and presentable.  Polite and attentive, must ensure that the judges instructions are followed. Aware of the judge’s position at all times when in the ring.

2^nd Jessica Milburn, 8 years old, perservered with a difficult sized breed (Newfoundland) for one so small. Enthusiastic and polite. Attentive to her dog, aiming all the time to show her dog well. Praised and used her dogs name for good effect.  Enthusiasm that will see this young lady do well in future perhaps with a smaller dog?

12-16 years

1^st Zoe Wilson 16 years old showing a Standard Poodle, showed the dog well, again must remember to follow instructions regarding moving the dog.  Showed that she understood how to show this breed. Must remember to praise her dog in future and use the dogs name. Disappointed at hesitation in shaking the judges hand. Perhaps this was dissapointment at not winning overall? 

2^nd Elishea-Jayne Halshaw aged 13 showing a Rottweiler, more practice with this particular dog may be needed. Also must remember not to stand between dog and judge, this happened on several occassions, using her knee to correct the dogs stance. Smart dress taking in to account the poor weather conditions.  Acceptable in ordinary breed classes but remember this is a junior handling class.

3^rd Jessica Cox aged 12 showing a Briard, perhaps nervous on this occasion, friendly polite young lady, would benefit from further training.
