JUNIOR HANDLING
A thank you to everyone for a good and challenging entry. Both classes were of a very good standard, but a quick word to the 6-11 juniors, please make sure you are watching the judge at all times so that you don’t fall foul of breaking the “golden rule”.
6-11 years (10, 1a).
1. Lauren Andrews handling a Flatcoated Retriever. A very confident handler with a soft approach to her dog. Pattern work as faultless and straight. Didn’t put a foot wrong in this class and was very close to BJH. Well done.
2. Kaitlyn Boal handling a Papillon. An excellent upcoming dog handler. Table work was good despite being almost eclipsed by her dog! Pattern work was neat and tidy with straight lines.
3. Eleanor Thomas handling a Bolognese.
12-16 years (5).
1. Stephanie Jefford handling a Fox Terrier. Superb handling in a strongly contested class. Table work was effortless and teeth were shown kindly and clearly. Pattern work was good with very straight lines. Well done. BJH
2. Roisin Howlett handling a Tibetan Terrier. Very well handled throughout. Table work was good and patterns were clean with neat turns. Very close to second, may have been first on another day.
3. Amber Corcoran handling a Dalmatian.
ADULT HANDLING
17-39 years (3,1a).
1. Gemma Price handling a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. A very confident handler. Showed her dog to a high standard and presentation work and pattern work was faultless. Displayed a good knowledge of advanced pattern work. Well Done. BAH.
2. Melanie Squires handling a Pointer. Very well handled for her first handling class in a few years. Presentation work good but unfortunately gave me the wrong pattern. Apart from that, very good.
40 years and over (11,3a).
1. Alan Small handling a Border Terrier. Not his usual breed to take into handling classes. Very well handled and set the standard for the class going first in the ring. Table work was faultless and effortless. Pattern work was good with crisp corners at the correct pace. Displayed advanced patterns very well. Well Done.
2. Gina Broadhead handling a Border Terrier. Very well handled in a strong class. Table work was very good and pattern work was straight. Also displayed advanced patterns very well.
3. Margaret McWilliams handling a Cocker Spaniel.
