EAST OF ENGLAND CHAMP SHOW
Judge - Jane Cryer
6-11years
1. Anna Brawn, GSP. A very sympathetic handler, who carried out everything I asked in an efficient, unobtrusive manner. Showed her dog off to its best advantage, without getting flustered when it moved while standing. Excellent voice and lead control.
2. Page Allen, Lancashire Heeler. Liked everything about her handling. Very close up to 1 and in general, the same comments apply. Just a shame she didn't notice that her dog had broken its pace a couple of times on the move.
3. Dom Santoriello
12-16 years
A very strong class here, making my job all the more difficult! I'm sure my top five handlers could change places on a different day.
1. Jodie Allen, Rottweiller. I have judged Jodie and done her well on a previous occasion and I was certainly not disappointed second time around. Free stood her charge well, showing the ability to deal with a dog that does not always fully cooperate while standing. My eye was constantly drawn to her rottweiller rather than her, which I think is the most important quality a handler should have.
2. Shannon Thomas, Sheltie. Another excellent handler who I have judged before. Showed her dog competently in all areas using a sympathetic approach. However, with a competition as close as this one, I just felt that 1 was able to display her handling skills to a greater extent, given that she had a more excitable dog.
