GUERNSEY DOG CLUB
Judge - Russell Marrett
One fault that was quite consistent was that many handlers did not align with the dog in front; this was especially seen in the older age group, where the handler should have known better.
6-11years (4)
1. Stephanie Crisell handling a Labrador, typically energetic for the breed, however, dog and handler worked well together on move, turns could have been sharper and could have been closer to the other dog in the gaiting.
2. Stephanie Le Noury handling a Corgi, relationship between dog and handler could have been better, dog seemed too energetic for handler to control, however, sharp turns were perpetrated with precision
3. Hanna Young, handling a Dachshund.
12-16 years (2)
This was a close class with both handlers carrying out all pattern work with precision, with mainly minor faults separating their placings.
1. Elisha Wilson handling a Dachshund, showed a united relationship between dog and handler, dog needed to be stood closer to the edge of the table, sharp turns on all pattern work with the execution of a perfect triangle, handler was always aware of her surroundings and got the most out of her dog
2. Natalie De La Cour handling a Shih Tzu, the use of a tight lead was evident with the handler almost pulling the dog along, as with 1, the dog should have been stood closer to the edge of the table, the up and down was unfaultable, with perfectly straight lines, again, she was constantly aware of her surroundings.
