Such a shame about the weather but it really didn’t affect the handlers, which is good. I was disappointed yet again with the attitude of the handlers. Especially in the younger handlers, there was not a smile to be seen and out of both classes, only two people thanked me after their routine. Despite this the standard of handling in the older class was excellent and it was a pleasure to put them through their paces. I genuinely needed more cards for this class.

6-11 year (18, 7a)

1. Page Allen. A very competent young handler who was hard to fault. She performed a very good triangle in tricky conditions with a large dog. Was focussed throughout and polite. She looked smart in her suit and her hair was neat and tidy. Lost out BJH as she performed a wonky present following the figure of 8.

2. Victoria Clarke. Very impressed with Victoria who pushed 1 hard. Demonstrated kind and sensitive handling and was aware of my position at all times. Just felt she didn’t have the same polished performance as the winner but this will come with experience.

3. Joely Sandells

12-16 years (16,5a)

1. Georgina Ferguson. I enjoyed watching every part of Georgina’s performance. She had a fantastic rapport with her dog and made handling look effortless. Her teeth work was excellent and her reverse triangle was performed successfully. She sported a lovely fitted dark blue suit. Well done and BJH.

2. Hollie Kavanagh. I don’t think I’ve judged Hollie before but was very pleased at what I saw. Even though she’s one of the youngest in the class, she was proficient in all areas.

3. Jodi Allen
