HOW DID YOU START OFF JUNIOR HANDLING?

I began handling dogs for my Aunt, I then started showing Beagles for friends and I eventually got my own German Wirehaired Pointer.

DO YOU TAKE PART IN ANY OTHER DOGGY ACTIVITIES (OBEDIENCE,AGILITY,FLYBALL,ETC)?:

I used to participate in Agility and Flyball, but as I became more involved with the showing side, I did not have enough time to concentrate on other activities.

HOW MANY DOGS DO YOU LIVE WITH,OWN AND/OR SHOW?:

At home we have 7 German Shorthaired Pointers, 1 German Wirehaired Pointers and 2 Miniature Pinschers. I also own a GWP and Beagle in partnership.

WHICH ONES DO YOU USE FOR JUNIOR HANDLING AND WHY?:

I usually show my GWP or a Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla, because these are the dogs I find I have the best rapport with.

WHAT BREEDS HAVE YOU SHOWN BEFORE IN COMPETITION?:

I frequently show GWP's, GSP's, Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla, Flatcoated Retriever and Beagles, and also I have shown Shiba Inus, Min Pins, Rotties, and German Spitz, amongst other breeds.

TELL US ABOUT HOW TO HANDLE (SHOWING STYLE) YOUR BREED IN JUNIOR HANDLING CLASSES?:

The German Pointers, and Wirehaired Vizslas are stacked and are either moved strung-up or run on a loose lead depending on how the dog shows.

WHAT DO YOU NORMALLY WEAR IN COMPETITION?:

When showing I usually wear a smart trouser suit, colour depending on which dogs I am showing.

WHAT ARE YOUR BEST ACHIEVEMENTS?:

These would include winning 2 R.C.C's & 3 C.A.C.I.B's with my GWP. Also winning the C.A.C.I.B & BOB at the All-Winners show in Amsterdam 2005 with one of our GSP's. As well as winning multiple firsts at championship shows, in breed and handling classes, and finally gaining 4 C.C.s and a R.C.C with a Beagle which I show.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE OCCASION SO FAR?:

Everything I have achieved during my show career has been memorable.

IF YOU ONLY HAD ONE 'TOP TIP' TO SHARE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?:

Enjoy yourself.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT JUNIOR HANDLING?

Meeting and getting to know different people.

WHAT DISAPPOINTS YOU IN THE WORLD OF JUNIOR HANDLING?:

Arrogance and Gossip.
