1. Lily warren, handling a Shar pei. Stood her dog lovely at all times. Table work was very good, showed the teeth extremely well even with a dog with lot of flews.  Very well moved, did correct patterns, carried out very well. Very well done, only main fault was standing dog on floor when mats were available.

2. Carley Johnson, handling a Norwegian buhund.  This young handler had good concentration.  Worked with her dog well and kept her cool while the dog decided not to play the game.  Made sure she was always stood correctly, good pattern work and lines

1. Rhian McLoughlin, handling a Beagle.  Took my eye, whenever she stood her dog she presented it well, always keeping herself in the background. Gave me the impression of “here’s my dog” which was lovely to see. Her posture was faultless. Moved dog well, everything steady.  Very well done.

2. Danielle Jones, handling a groenendael. It was very close. This lady was handling a young dog but handled her very well.  Excellent pattern and table work.  Lost it on last presentation when her dog wasn’t stood as well as 1.

I would like to thank Henley on Thames for inviting me to judge & to all the exhibitors for accepting my decisions in good faith.  I did feel that sometimes the handlers tend to forget that their dogs would be more comfortable and perform better if they used the available matting when showing in sports halls. The floors can be slippery and as the technical standard of the handling today was high, and decisions were close, this factor did make the difference some of my placings.

1. Hollie Kavanagh. Presented her Doberman at the table making sure she was set up on the mat to prevent slipping. Excellent presentation of the teeth showing both sides and front clearly. She moved her charge in a very good triangle with lovely straight lines, on a loose lead and showing good use of voice control. Her own presentation was good in a white suit that clearly showed off her dark dog.

2. Francesca McWade. Set her Pappilon very well on the table and was constantly communicating with her dog. Another excellent presentation of the teeth with all shown clearly.  She used the ring well and her lines on the triangle were straight.  Her own presentation was excellent to contrast with her dog. Just stood her dog too close to me at the end of her pattern which lost her 1st place.

3. Jodi Allen.

1. Danielle Jones. This young lady was cool calm and collected handling her Groenendaal.  She stood her free standing dog perfectly using the available matting. Teeth presentation was clear and swift without upsetting the dog. She moved the dog at the perfect speed for this dog with good straight lines on a loose lead.  Used her voice well without being too loud, a very good handler who always presented her dog rather than herself.

2. Holly Barrington. Another excellent handler without being overdone. Table work was excellent with good presentation of teeth. Moved her dog in a good triangle with straight lines at the correct pace.  Dogs legs were slightly out of alignment when stood at the end of her patterns which was the deciding

3. Lauren Wright.

17 - 40 years

1. Ms Prevel. Handling a Tibetan Terrier.  Set her dog up correctly and was constantly aware of any movement correcting only when necessary. Good clear presentation of teeth, all lines were good and straight and shadowing performed when required.  Moved dog well.

2. Kirsty Miller handling a Springer Spaniel. This young lady done everything that I asked. Good presentation of her dog with good lines. At one with her dog when moving, and moved at just the right pace.  Teeth presentation was good and clear, just lost out on 1st place by allowing the hind legs to be slightly out of alignment when stood.

3. Hayley Stevens.

41 years +

1. Mr A Small. Handling a Border Terrier. Good presentation at the table showing the teeth clearly and precisely. Lines were excellent. Dog moved well, slightly away from handler on a loose lead giving a clear overall picture. Only shadowed when necessary and was not overdone.

2. Mrs Grimshaw handling a Springer Spaniel. Again, good presentation of the dog at the table using the matting to prevent slipping.  Good clear presentation of the teeth. Lines were straight and she used her voice well to encourage her dog. Handler and dog were at one on the move.  Shadowed well.

3. Mrs McWilliams
