NATIONAL WORKING AND PASTORAL BREEDS CH SHOW

14th JULY 2007

JUDGE  Helena Hutchings

Thank you for such a wonderful entry, and to NWPB for inviting me to judge.

The biggest areas for improvement for a lot of the handlers are:Not to get your head in the way when showing the judge the teeth, and do not drop your lead when showing the dogs teeth. Show the teeth clearly to the judging so they can see all three sides of the teeth and ALL of the teeth.Sharpen up patterns so that the judge can see a good front, side and rear gait of the dog, and when completing the straight up and back head for a point in front of you so your lines are really straight.

6-11 years

1st Chloe Brutto

This young lady handled her dog with tremendous energy and enthusiasm, giving her charge so much encouragement. Her floor presentation was accurate showing me all teeth without getting in the way.  All pattern work was very precise. A fantastic handler. Will go a long way in the future.

2nd Jayne Perks

Jayne is a very quiet enthusiastic handler who was not at her best today. She had a tough time with her young Russian but coped extremely well.  Her presentation work was very smart, just lost out as pattern work was not as precise as it could have been. Still a good effort, Well Done!

3rd Rebecca Stracey

12-16

1st James Rodgerson

James just goes from strength to strength, a handler who I have judged on many occasions and as always stood out a mile in this class - He is a very stylish handler. James is quietly confident and presents his dog to its best at all times staying very much in the background himself. Moved around the pattern work at the correct pace throughout the corners of the ‘L’ and the straight up and down. A very professional performance as always and a well deserved win – Well Done!

2nd Louise Stracey

Louise is a very sympathetic handler always putting her dog first. Was quick to stand her dog to perfection showing me the teeth very clearly. Completed all floor presentation calmly and precisely making her dog look its best at all times.
