PERTHSHIRE CANINE CLUB
Judge - Karen Davidson
I would like to thank the committee of the Perthshire Canine Club for giving me the opportunity to judge their JH classes. I had a great time at my first judging appointment and was very impressed with the level of professionalism and sportsmanship. All of the handlers carried out what I asked for in a very professional manner. However when asked to show the teeth you must show the whole mouth and when asked only for the bite it is only the front of the mouth. Also you should always be aware of where the judge places their feet and set-up your dog and begin pattern work accordingly.
6 - 11 years
1. Joanne Lyon handling a Border Terrier. Neat and well presented handler who was always aware of where I was. Good table work and showed teeth well. Very patient with her young dog and worked well to get the best out of her. Showed good awareness of ring patterns. Lost out in challenge as she went in front of me. Try not to get flustered.
2. Jorden McKinstry handling a Whippet. Very professional young handler, always watching where I was standing. Never to fussy and did not seem to let nerves get to her. Needs to remember not to set up her dog to close to the judge. Very neat and precise pattern and table work and showed good rapport with her dog.
3. Emma Greig handling a Cocker Spaniel.
4 Arizona Morence handling a Siberian Husky.
12 - 16 years
1. Claire Mills handling a Doberman. Extremely professional. Always watching where my feet were directed and acted accordingly. Showed teeth well and seemed always to be considerate of the dog. Smart and precise pattern work. Perhaps needs to take more time setting her dog up in order to get the true Doberman ‘picture’. Well done. BJH.
2. Louise Smith handling an Irish Setter. Smart and well presented dog and handler. Set her dog up beautifully and put on a real show. Neat pattern work and good rapport with her dog. Needs to watch where I place my feet at the end of the pattern work and set up her dog accordingly.
3. Neal Leiper handling an Afghan Hound.
4 R Connell handling a Boxer.
