HOW DID YOU START OFF JUNIOR HANDLING?
I started junior handling by nagging mother to let me show her Dalmatians, but they were too big and strong for a 7 year old, so she bought a Dachshund.
DO YOU TAKE PART IN ANY OTHER FIELD (I.E. OBEDIENCE, AGILITY, FLYBALL ETC)?
I just do handling.
HOW MANY DOGS DO YOU LIVE WITH, OWN AND SHOW?
We have 5 dogs, a Labrador, a Dalmatian and 3 Wirehaired Dachshunds.
WHICH ONES DO YOU USE FOR JUNIOR HANDLING AND WHY?
I show 2 of the Dachshunds Boloria Persus (Scoobie) and Boloria Nefertiti (Leah), she’s the one I show most.
TELL US ABOUT HOW TO HANDLE (SHOWING STYLE) WHICHEVER BREED YOU USE MOST IN JUNIOR HANDLING CLASSES.
The Dachshund is a stacked dog which is also a table dog, moving I have to walk quickly with a lead high around neck.
WHAT DO YOU NORMALLY WEAR IN COMPETITION?
I always wear a light coloured suit to complement the dog as the Dachshund are usually dark.
TELL US ABOUT SOME OF YOUR BEST ACHIEVEMENTS?
My best achievement so far was winning at Richmond 2005.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST MEMORABLE OCCASION SO FAR?
Most memorable show so far was winning at Bath when I won the J.H.A handling and the Y.K.C stakes class as well.
IF YOU ONLY HAD ONE 'TOP TIP' TO SHARE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
The tip I would give to others is always enjoy yourself, no matter how you do in your class.
WHAT DISAPPOINTS YOU IN THE WORLD OF JUNIOR HANDLING?
Mum moaning when I make a mistake.
But I enjoy handling as I have made so many new friends.
