SOUTH EASTERN WELSH SPRINGER SPANIEL CLUB OPEN SHOW

Judge  - Rachael Buckwell

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at their show. I asked handlers for basic skills that would be expected of them in the breed ring and found most had grasped these, so hope they continue to build upon this.

6-11years (1)

1. Fern Jackson, competent handler, smartly presented, moved at right pace for dog, seemed a little nervous in her class but relaxed in the challenge at which point her abilities really shone through and she presented her dog beautifully, lines were straight, and checks made for my position. BJH.

12-16yrs (5,2a)

1. Sarah Dawson, a good handler, paid full attention to her dog whilst also watching my position, won the class on tidiness of patterns, only lost out in challenge for BJH because her dog was not quite presented correctly to me at the end of pattern work.     

2. Stefan Butcher, had an excellent rapport with his dog, made good use of the available ring, presented dog well both standing and on the move, remember to watch that you don’t get between the dog and judge.
