SOUTH WALES PAPILLON CLUB
Judge - Miss Z Brodie
Firstly may I thank the S.W. Papillon Club for such a warm welcome, I thoroughly enjoyed the day. A good entry, I found it difficult to choose, as the standard was so high. I was really nit picking in the end. The Club has a some really good Junior Handlers coming through and this should be encouraged. They all had a great empathy with their dogs, and worked hard to get the best out of them.
6-11 years
1. Beth Holmes. Nice clean, straight lines. Placed dog well on the table. Gentle handler that encouraged her dog. Did not panic, under pressure.
2. Kimberley McEvansoney. Good handler, but went between myself and the dog. Otherwise this would have been a difficult choice, between 1+2 place.
3. Jasmine Spencer. Worked hard as the dog was fidgeting. Presented the dog well, except on the table.
12-16 years
1. Francesca McWade. Nicely presented, dog and handler complemented each other. Always aware of where I was standing. Kept nice pace and clean lines. Best Junior Handler
2. Amy Mason. Dog not as settled as no. 1. but still worked hard to encourage her dog. Good handler.
3. Jamie Zambas-Adams. Confident handler. Presentation on table good. A little distracted, and went between myself and the dog, and missed up and down out. Could have won this class. The challenge was a difficult choice and I had to resort to all sorts to try and make a choice. Excellent handling, from both Beth and Francesca. Concentrated at all times, and knew all the little tricks I was trying to catch them out on. If Beth¹s shoe lace hadn’t distracted her the, outcome may have been different.
