TREDEGAR & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY
27th October 2007
Judge: Bethan Williams
I would like to thank the society for inviting me to judge the junior handling.
6-11 years (10,2a)
All but the winner in this class made a mistake when showing the teeth, when I asked for the teeth I expect to see all three sides of the mouth not just the front (bite). Also the majority of the handlers broke the golden rule by going in-between the dog and the judge.
1. Harleigh Morgan 9 yrs old, showing a Tibetan Spaniel. Harleigh was the only one in the class to show the teeth correctly and also not to break the golden rule. Harleigh executed her patterns well, had a good rapport with her dog. Harleigh also had good table work and was aware of where I was and made sure she did not get in-between the dog and judge. Well Done Harleigh.
2. Jordina Robb 11 yrs showing a Shiba Inu another good handler but did not show me the teeth correctly and did go in-between the dog and the judge once. But her table work was good and her patterns where neat.
3. Danielle Taylor 11 yrs showing a Bichon Frise.
12-16 years (6,4a)
1. Ellamay Morgan 12 yrs showing a Hungarian Puli. Ellamay had good table work but needs to be a little quicker showing the teeth. Ellamay completed her patterns neatly and had sharp corners, she had a good rapport with her dog. Ellamay was aware of where I was without ‘eye-balling’. Handled very natural showing her dog off not herself and showing the dog to the best advantage. Needs to talk more to the dog. Well Done.
2. Sophia Antonio 14 yrs showing a Whippet. Did a good job good table work and patterns but stood to close on many occasions, also she needs to take her time and work with her dog if the dog won’t cooperate and not loose her temper with her dog.
Webmaster - thanks to Bethan for sending this critique in.
