UNITED SPANIEL ASSOCIATION OPEN SHOW

Judge - Rachael Buckwell

Thank you for the lovely entry. In general, I found the standard of handling in all classes to be good, although there were a few handlers who needed to remember the golden rule of not getting between your dog and the judge.

6-11 years (7,1a)

1. Kiri Hurst, Am Cocker, very confident handler, excellent rapport with her dog, presented dog well on the table and floor, straight lines, moved at correct pace for her charge, always aware of my position, should have a bright future ahead of her.

 2. Anna Brawn, Clumber, quiet and calm handler, made good use of the ring, stood her dog correctly, remained patient with a dog which was not easy to show, just lost out on neatness of patternwork.

3. Ella Corcoran, Cocker.

12-16 years (3)

1. Alex Macbain, Field, another confident handler, did everything I asked, her dog was well presented at all times, lines were straight and patterns were accurate and neat, moved her dog at the right pace, gave adequate verbal encouragement, showed her dog to its best without any exaggeration.

2. Chelsea Herd, Cocker, displayed gentle and sympathetic handling at all times, always aware of her dog and my position, good rapport with her dog, she pushed the winner hard and even after some advanced patternwork I was really splitting hairs to make my decision, another excellent performance.

3. Zoe Corcoran, Cocker.
