YKC Senior handling was judged by Miss Laura Newson.. The competition was divided into 3 age groups, which were judged over 3 days. Friday was the 17-18 years class. There was an entry of 27, which was shortlisted to 7. The judge was able to catch out many good handlers by standing in an unobtrusive spot meaning as the handlers entered the ring many went between the dog and judge. Each handler was asked to perform a triangle and up and down before the first cut was made to 7. Each remaining competitor was asked to do a further up and down before placing the final four. The judge then picked her winner to be Laura Nicholas handling a Welsh Terrier, 2^nd place went to Alexa Goddard handling a Minature Schnauzer, 3^rd Kirsty Miller with an English Springer Spaniel, 4^th went to Roxanne McDonald handling an Irish Red and White Setter.

The second day of the competition was judged on Saturday and had 11 entries. This time after walking down to the collection ring to be introduced before retiring to the corner, no body made the mistake of coming between the dog and the judge. The competitors were again faced with the same pattern as day 1. After each handler had been assessed individually the judge shortlisted to 6 placing Kate Vincent with a Field Spaniel 1^st, 2^nd went to Helen Taylor, 3^rd went to Rebecca Hodge handling a Labrador with 4^th Laura Stuart-Cook with an Irish Setter.
