National Office of Animal Health (NOAH)
Government organisation? Medical charity? Or what?
You would be forgiven for assuming either of the former two from its title. In fact the answer is neither - it is a trade association made up of large multi-national organisations or their subsidiaries, whose interests include drugs, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, contraception products, and food supplements.
NOAH has its base in the UK and is chaired by David Sutton, an employee of Intervet UK Ltd. Intervet is probably the largest and most profitable manufacturer of vaccines in the UK and the world. Intervet is a subsidiary of AKZO Nobel NV, a multi-billion Dutch conglomerate with subsidiaries around the world. Intervet has sister companies throughout the world too!
The main objective of NOAH is to act as marketing and PR agency for its member's interests. It seeks to influence both professionals and the general public that all its members' products are beneficial for animals and their owners. Control over NOAH's members.
In fact it often feeds prospective readers with misinformation. Usually such statements are made in an attempt to discredit research that does not support the claims of a NOAH member. Example

In fact so paranoid is NOAH about us telling you the truth they even go to such lengths as masquerading as Canine Health Concern or our former name of Canine Health Census. If you use a search engine for either of our names you will find a web page that talks about the benefits of vaccines. The web page does not mention our name but in the keywords of the Meta tag in the HTML document you will find their use mentioned as keyword phrases. In the case that NOAH have removed the offending search phrases we have taken copies as of 10 April 2000 and the original files have been posted to our discussion list - k9health@yahoogroups.com. So all our members have received a copy of the relevant file and our archives contain the original file. If NOAH have not changed the file when you inspect it you can verify the facts by using the View menu in IEv5 under source, save the file and ask us to send you a copy. So that you can compare!
